  • Brenda Choate, Susan Luke, Kerilyn Gibbs, and Karry Walgamott - The 2nd and 3rd grade concert was amazing! This is the direct result of our fantastic music teacher and the hard work of our elementary teachers in consistently training students to maintain the Compass Culture.

October Birthdays/Halloween

On Wednesday, Oct. 31, K-6 will celebrate October Birthdays. This is NOT intended to be a Halloween party as Compass doesn't recognize Halloween. Therefore, students shouldn't come to school with costumes, make-up, or hair dye. Thank you for your support!

Parent-Teacher Conferences

K-6th grade parents will meet individually with their child's teacher regarding academic progress. If you have not signed up for a Parent-Teacher Conference time and now wish to do so, please contact your child's teacher(s) to request a conference date/time.
7th-12th grade Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held in the auditorium. Parents can meet with the teachers they choose. There is no need to sign up for these conferences, just come between 8:00-4:00 on Thursday, November 1 or Friday, November 2. There is NO school on these two days.

Parent Presentation

On Tuesday, October 30th at 7:00pm we will be hosting the Meridian Mayor's Anti-Drug Coalition at Compass. There will be Meridian police officers presenting information about drug and alcohol use in Meridian. This is a great opportunity to know what is going on in our community. For example, here are a few statistics that are important to know:

  • 47% of Compass junior high students know someone who does drugs.
  • 9% of Compass junior high students know someone who provides drugs.
  • The average age that kids start experimenting with drugs is 13 years old.
  • Meridian youth use alcohol at a higher rate than the state average.
  • Drug use triples between 6th and 8th grade.

Parents and community members are invited! However, it is not recommended that students attend. Hope to see you there!
